Solid Spanish Walnut & Chestnut Floor Restoration – Serrano (Barrio de Salamanca)

Work performed: Structural repair and fine restoration of bespoke solid wood flooring in an upscale residential apartment on Calle Serrano, in Madrid’s Salamanca district. Project supervised by architect Ángel Francés (De Autor Arquitectura).
Pattern & prior condition: Checkerboard pattern alternating light chestnut and rich dark Spanish walnut squares. Wear in library from castor chairs, loose pieces over joists.
Technical intervention & finish: Re-anchoring loose pieces, selective replacement of damaged wood, dustless cyclonic sanding to create a perfectly flat plane between differing hardwood densities, and Bona Traffic HD Satin 2K waterborne polyurethane (EMICODE EC1 Plus).
Specialized in dustless hardwood floor sanding in Madrid and restoration of historic parquets.
