Technical refurbishment, deep sanding, and surface protection of solid timber flooring across the main entrance lobby, café foyer, and primary auditorium corridors of Teatros Luchana, a landmark performing arts center in Chamberí.
Space requirements & regulatory compliance
Accommodating thousands of weekly spectators, heavy stage carts, and continuous public transit, the flooring demanded exceptional mechanical abrasion resistance while strictly satisfying the Technical Building Code (CTE) requirements for slip resistance (DB-SUA) and reaction-to-fire classification (Cfl-s1).
Technical intervention & finish
We executed high-capacity cyclonic sanding to eliminate deep heel abrasions, beverage staining, and rolling-load friction marks without reducing the timber’s long-term re-sanding capacity. The surface was treated with a high-build, commercial two-component (2K) waterborne polyurethane incorporating certified anti-slip micro-particulates, delivering robust safety and a clean contemporary aesthetic under theatre lighting.
