Parquet Screen and Recoat – Hotel Thompson Madrid
Hotel Thompson Madrid 5* · Plaza del Carmen · Screen and recoat of oak parquet in event rooms
Work performed
Technical refresh and maintenance of the parquet in the banquet rooms of Hotel Thompson Madrid 5*. The rooms are next to Plaza del Carmen.
Demands of the space
The rooms host events with constant set-up of tables and portable stages. Continuous traffic causes surface wear on the finish without affecting the base wood.
Technical treatment and finish
We screened the existing finish with fine-grit abrasives to prepare it for the new coats. The process removed scuff marks without taking any thickness off the oak. We applied two coats of 2K aliphatic waterborne varnish with high abrasion resistance (Taber). The satin finish keeps the look of the hotel without distracting glare.
