Work performed: Complete restoration of noble timber floors in the ceremonial salons of the historic Alcalá 56 building in Madrid, headquarters of INGESA and AESAN.
Flooring design: The floor features Iberian sweet chestnut planks surrounded by perimeter borders and contrasting European walnut inlays. Warm grain tones and natural chatoyancy characteristic of Madrid’s institutional architecture.
Technical intervention & finish: Consolidation of loose marquetry components, delicate dustless sanding to level uneven plank transitions without sacrificing usable thickness, resin joint filling, and application of 3 coats of breathable, low-sheen waterborne protective varnish.
