Heritage Solid Oak Flooring Restoration – Buenavista Palace
Palacio de Buenavista · Plaza de Cibeles (Central Madrid) · 18th-century neoclassical palace, military state reception salons.

Work performed
Comprehensive conservation and surface rehabilitation of wide-plank solid European oak flooring across the primary institutional salons and ceremonial halls of Buenavista Palace, located prominently at Plaza de Cibeles in central Madrid.
Heritage requirements & institutional use
Dating from the 18th century and serving as the General Headquarters of the Spanish Army, this historic complex hosts official state ceremonies and continuous military protocol. The wide solid oak planks required stabilization and leveling while honoring authentic historical textures and respecting strict security protocols.
Technical intervention & finish
A multi-stage progressive sanding sequence with industrial cyclonic extraction ensured zero dust infiltration into ceremonial tapestries and antique furnishings. Longitudinal plank seams were reinforced and stabilized with elastic resin compound. Three coats of fire-retardant 2K waterborne polyurethane in a natural satin sheen were applied, highlighting the authentic oak grain and offering lasting durability.
