If this wear layer is 2.5 mm or thicker, it can be professionally sanded and refinished multiple times.

Wear Layer Thickness Guidelines

• 2.5 mm – 3.0 mm: Allows 1 to 2 precision micro-sanding cycles using planetary multi-head sanders.
• 3.5 mm – 4.5 mm: Allows 3 to 4 complete refinishing passes throughout its lifetime.
• 6.0 mm: Comparable to solid hardwood plank flooring, allowing 5+ sanding cycles over 50+ years.
